‘The Ugly Shakespeare Company’ is New Zealand’s leading TIE company, having toured this country’s secondary schools for 13 years, bringing a unique brand of Shakespeare to tens of thousands of students on each tour.
The Company is now auditioning for male actors for the 2009 tour of New Zealand and Sydney.
On the tour you will perform two 50 minute shows – each one a very warped, madcap and comic take on a Shakespeare play (on this tour it will be ‘Othello’ and ‘Hamlet’).
Rehearsals will take place in Auckland from 28 January-14 February with the tour starting on February 16 and running for 4-5 months.

Actors
Males, aged 18 to 35 from New Zealand
We are looking for young, fit and energetic actors who can handle a demanding 5 month tour, who have an interest in Shakespeare and comedy and who look funny dressed as girls. Any other skills (singing, dancing, juggling, acrobatics etc.) are most welcome.
